Guest Room Color Schemeing

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever shown you guys a photo of our upstairs loft. Well, that day still isn't here. For the few years we've been living in this apartment, our loft has been our extra storage/weight room. Soon though, that will be a-changin'! We just added a garage onto our rental agreement so we can turn that into an extra storage/weight room and utilize the loft as a guest room.

And I. Am. So. Excited. Another room to decorate! Yay!

Because I like things to be cohesive, part of me wants the color palette to be similar to the rest of the apartment but the other, less neurotic part of me, wants something a little more exciting since I don't have to stare at it everyday. I'm torn.

Here's the palette for the rooms in our apartment currently. I don't expect any of them to change, except I might attempt to phase the red out of our kitchen (you know how I am with strong color). We'll see about that.

I went a little more fun and bright than usual for the balcony because it's outdoors. I can handle color outdoors. Also, I'm going to guess you can probably tell what my favorite color is. I've got bits of aqua in every single room. Can't help myself!

Currently I'm not really leaning toward any specific color palette, which I think makes making a decision even harder. This is where my head is at so far:

Pinned Image
Powder blue, soft pink, and a really pale creamy yellow. It definitely meshes with the rest of our apartment, I'm just not sure if it's too baby-shower.

Pinned Image
I love the burlap and blue green combo. The black and white is just graphic enough to be interesting but non-irritating to my sensitive-to-too much-color-or-contrast eyeballs.

Pinned Image
I'm not a huge fan of the currently super popular grey & yellow combo, only because the yellow is so damn sunshiney. This, however, I can get behind. Ivory, slate, and a cooled down almost mustardy yellow.

Pinned Image
Last, but not least, this super soft and feminine palette. Lots of white with a powdery lilac and aqua.

Now that you've seen the colors in out apartment & my various inspiration, what do you think? Which palette for the guest room is your favorite?

100 Foods To Try Before You Die

Have you seen this list floating around Facebook as of late?

They are, apparently, the 100 things you should eat before you die. Apparently whoever created this list said that most people average around 20. Let's see about that. I've bolded items I've already had and crossed out the items I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.

1. Abalone

2. Absinthe-  I'm dying to try this.

3. Alligator

4. Baba Ghanoush- I kind of can't believe I haven't had this before.

5. Bagel and lox - Love. Lox.

6. Baklava - Mmm, crispy, honeyed, deliciousness.

7. Barbecue ribs

8. Bellini- Will be partaking in one of these ASAP.

9. Bird’s Nest Soup- - Hell to the no.

10. Biscuits and gravy

11. Black Pudding

12. Black Truffle - Mmmm. Truffled anything.

13. Borscht

14. Calamari

15. Carp

16. Caviar

17. Cheese fondue

18. Chicken and waffles - Yes, I live in the south & I've never had this. I'm a disgrace.

19. Chicken Tikka Masala

20. Chile Relleno

21. Chitterlings/Chitlins - Eating something's shit tunnel... no thank you.

22. Churros - Fried and cinnamon sugary. What's not to love?

23. Clam Chowder

26. Crickets - I just... I just can't eat a bug.

27. Currywurst

30. Durian

31. Eel - Only in sushi.

37. Fried Green Tomatoes

38. Fried Plaintain

39. Frito Pie

40. Frog’s Legs

43. Gazpacho

44. Goat - Took one bite of curried goat. It was... not for me.

45. Goat’s milk - Drank this in Trinidad. Mistook it for cow's milk. Scarred for life.

46. Goulash

47. Gumbo

48. Haggis - No way. No way, no way, no way.

49. Head Cheese - The name itself is off putting, much less what it actually is. Yuck.

50. Heirloom Tomatoes

51. Honeycomb

52. Hostess Fruit Pie

53. Huevos Rancheros

54. Jerk Chicken - So good. I like it best when it's not too spicy.
